Spinal pain (neck, thoracic and lumbar)
Spinal pain is a common problem which can affect any part of the spine, including the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. Pain can be the result of a number of factors, including inappropriate sitting position, insufficient physical activity or, conversely, overexertion during sports or work.
Cervical spine
- Symptoms: Headaches, restriction of head movement, shoulder pain.
- Causes: Muscle tension, arthrosis, herniated disc.
Thoracic spine
- Symptoms: Chest pain, muscle weakness, burning or stabbing sensations in the back.
- Causes: Muscle strain, damage to intervertebral discs, fractures.
Lumbar spine
- Symptoms: Pain in the lower back, limitation of mobility, pain spreading to the lower limbs.
- Causes: Spinal overload, degenerative disc disease, sciatica.
